This song has been going through my head for the past couple days. The reason for this is probably because I've been finding it hard to constantly keep my focus on God and how He has a perfect plan for me. I need to remember that His will for me is beyond my control, and way better than anything I'd ever chose for myself. "Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before the Lord. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows." Luke 12:6,7 His Eye is On the Sparrow By Civilla D. Martin, 1905 Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home, When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. Refrain: I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. “Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear, And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears; Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise, When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies, I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. |
