Round Top

It's been a while since I wrote a blog post.  Here goes!

We went on a nice hike with our friend Matt on Micaela's birthday.  We went up on our way to a peak called Round Top.  The hike to Round Top Lake was about "2 and a half miles".  It felt like it took forever to get there!  Not that it was super hard, but for some reason it seemed like  it shouldn't take as long as it did.  Well, once we got to the lake we sat down for a snack lunch and after a bit of looking at the tiny people that we hiking up the rest of the mountain that was basically a huge pile of rocks, we decided to call it a day and head back down.

Here's a picture of Round Top.
Yep, that nice little mountain on the left is where we decided to not climb to. ;)

We then took a lovely hike back around down the other side of the canyon/mountain/thingy.  It was truly a beautiful hike. (but then, I've always liked the downhill portion.)  Once we got over a little rise we had this beautiful view.

It was so beautiful! We then walked down a the hill and went past the lake.  I believe this was Winnemucca Lake.  On the way down to the lake we came across so many amazing wild flowers!

I thought this was cool because there were all these purple mountain lupines, then there was a white one right in the middle of the bunch! :)

We walked to some wildflower fields next, and on the way we came across this cool tree!

Then... the wild flowers. :-D

All in all, this was a pretty nice hike.  I might even be up for doing it again someday! *grins*

The Family Circle

"We often speak of a family circle, but there are none too many of them. Parallel lines never meeting, squares, triangles, oblongs, and particularly those oblongs pulled askew, known as rhomboids, these and other geometrical figures abound, but circles are comparatively few. In a true family circle a father and a mother first clasp each other's hands, liking well to be thus clasped; then they stretch out a hand on either side, and these are speedily grasped by children, who hold one another firmly, and complete the ring. One child is better than nothing, a great deal better than nothing; it is at least an effort in the right direction, but the circle that ensues is not, even then, a truly nice shape. You can stand as handsomely as ever you like, but it simply won't "come round." The minute that two, three, four, five, join in, the "roundness" grows, and the merriment too, and the laughter, and the power to do things. (Responsibility and care also, but what is the use of discouraging circles when there are not enough of them anyway?)"
- Mother Carey's Chickens

I love my dear family circle, and I wouldn't give anything for a different one.

Why Did The Girl Throw The Clock Out The Window?

To See Time Fly!!!

I guess someone threw the clock out the window a while ago because time just doesn't slow down one bit! I mean, in reality I suppose it doesn't go faster, nor does it go slower.  I just have to think back to when I was little and a year seemed like an eternity, then think about now and how it seems like it has hardly been a day since the girls left for school last August.

In 22 short days I will be heading to Jackson Hole Bible College for a year of growth.  I am beyond excited! Not only am I going to be learning so much benificial information, but I will be building relationships to last a lifetime. (Not to mention the view from school).

This is my last full week at home before I head to Wy. and I am trying to enjoy it while I scurry around like a mouse storing for the winter.  Tomorrow evening I will be able to halt my mad dash as we celebrate the uncoming marrieage of a friend at a wedding shower.  After that it's back to work!  Althought figuring out everything that I need is stressful, it is also very fun! I've always enjoyed shopping, and this has not been much of an exception.  Speaking of exception... isn't this an exceptional view?

I think I'm about ready to start actually packing, because I think I've bought everything that I need, at least most of it.  Yay!

Well, enough of this talking. Right? Of course right! Who wants talking when you can see pictures? Right? Of course!  I think I'll put some more of the pictures I took from our recent trip to Jackson Hole up. Does that sound good? I think yes.

Don't Wyoming got i'self some perty sunsets? *grins*
