On the topic of coffee. Some people don't like coffee, others like it too much. Some drink it for the caffeine, others drink it for the flavor. I personally don't drink it for the caffeine, although it probably helps some during Rock-N-Water, I drink it more cause I like the flavor. Well, partially flavor, after a conversation about coffee with a friend I came to the conclusion that maybe the reason I drink coffee is to get sugar to my mouth without it looking like sugar... I don't know if that makes any sense. My friend drinks it black quite often, and I started realizing that I don't think I had ever actually had my coffee black. ("Sick... Gross...") So, I tried it. Black coffee. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't very good.... it was just so.... BLACK! I don't think I did a very good job making it though, so I'm going to try having it again sometime, when someone else has made it. Anyways, after I had about half a cup of my coffee black and decided I didn't like it much, I added a little sugar, and it was much better. I actually sort of liked it like that. So I've come to the conclusion that coffee is not "Sick...Gross..." when it's black with a little sugar (at least my coffee needs sugar, and again, I'll try it again black when someone else has made it.) I do like it best when there is a lot of stuff in it to make it sweet too though, like a Starbucks drink.
This afternoon I felt like having some coffee, but not black because I didn't want it like that. Anyways... I'll share my recipe, because it was really quite good, even though it wasn't SUPER sweet... just sweet enough.
Pick a mug to use.
Fill mug half full of milk and microwave it for three 30 second increments until it is hot (warming it on the stove would work fine as well.)
Add half a package of got cocoa mix (about 2 tablespoons).
Add 1 tablespoon of your favorite Torani Syrup.
Mix all together.
Fill the remainder of the mug with coffee. Stir.
Put whipped cream on top. (whipped cream is not a must... unless you're me.)
And voila! You have a delightful cup of coffee!
Here are a couple pictures of mine.
you are adorable. You should work at a coffee shop where you can fully expand your creativity into fantastic lattes!
ReplyDeleteThat's not a bad udea... except then I'd end up having a coffee every dau and become addicted because they can be oh so tasty! So... maybe I'll stick with only having them when we have whipped cream? ;)
ReplyDeleteUm, that's not exactly coffee. It's more like milk-cocoa-coffee. Very delightful, though! :)
