Today the boys watched some SpongeBob. Although it can be very stupid at times, SpongeBob can be pretty funny too! As I was listening (not watching mind you, and you will see why later...) I heard all about a crabby patty. As I was thinking about it, I noticed that the special thing about a crabby patty seems to be a special sauce? Well, I was thinking about In-N-Out burgers, and how when you order one Animal Style they give it to you with a special sauce (although it's basically just thousand island dressing). I've decided that the makers of SpongeBob have had the amazingness called "An Animal Style Hamburger" and based the crabby patty from one. Just sayin'.
We have a lot of bananas. Well, we did at least. We buy bananas and we eat most of them, but then when they get brown we end up buying new ones. The brown ones stay one the counter and eventually we add more brown ones to the pile. Later we have a stack of bananas (literally a stack because they really do stack well) of over-ripe (not bad, just reeeeaaaally brown) bananas. Well, that happened. We had about 26 over-ripe bananas sitting on the counter. I decided that instead of sitting around I'd get rid of them... not by throwing them away, but by using them! So I got out our American Test Kitchen Cookbook and I started cooking. I made banana bread first. I made 3 loaves plain banana bread, 2 loaves of orange banana bread, and 2 loaves of chocolate chip banana bread. It smells fantastic! After that I made banana nut muffins from the same cook book. Well, I made the batter, and I'm going to cook them tomorrow morning for breakfast. I'm really looking forward to it! We'll see how they turn out.
The rain is still coming down in buckets (not liturally of course, but still, there's a lot of rain) and it's very wet outside.
Aimee called a little while ago. She's out skiing today with Heather and Caela. I started thinking about it and I realized something... They're going to be good at skiing.snowboarding when they come home! I'm not sure how I feel about this, cause then I'll be so patheticif we ever go together! Oh well, I'm glad they get to have a ton of fun at school. *grins* I miss them!
ahh, the joys of making banana recipes!! I've definitely done my share of those while here at camp where we constantly have TONS of overripe (I daresay BAD) bananas!
ReplyDeleteAnalea! I totally thought of you while I was cooking with them! I remembered you saying how much you enjoyed it. ;) Hehe It made me wish you were here to help me. :)
